(And yes, I'm currently spamming you with comment replies. It's pretty much the most enjoyable thing I've done in 17 days.)

You know, Atlanta is an all-right town; all of it's problems seem to be transport related. It suffers from bad traffic, bad public transport, too many one-way streets, confusing and changing street nomenclature, and is so spread out that you're forced to use all of this to get anywhere. But, if you were to end up here, we could happily jaunt around in my teensy little car and skip all that to get to the good stuff, which there is a good bit of if you know where to look.

In America? I know it's cliche, but New York. BROADWAY and shoes and foooood. Also Austin because I loved it and it would be warmer. Actually, right now, I want to go anywhere. Anywhere that isn't here and work. Your city! I'll take your city.

P.S. That izakaya food looks so much more fancy than what I had at izakayas in Japan! Plus I'm yet to find an izakaya in Australia that serves the chicken cartilege my parents miss...

Yep, the only thing keeping us here is a desire to have our children grow up around family. Some day far in the future when they're grown and gone, we'll pack up and find somewhere that feels right.

As for your question about where I'd want to live, I don't think I've found it yet. It's not really Atlanta though.

I am currently more hungry than any other blog post has ever made me. All thanks to these good looking sushi and izakaya items. Wow... I rarely venture from my regularly ordered items at sushi restaurants, but only because the options aren't here to try more exciting things.

It all looks so amazing. I always feel a bit creeped out that I enjoy eel so much. And sorry, but I like uni too:) I've never seen tea served with tempura before, I'd love to try that out!

Ah, Kyoto. That's a city I could see myself retiring in. Japan has one of the strictest immigration processes though, so I doubt I'd ever be able to live there full time.

I love Miso Izakaya! I could seriously just order 10 plates of their takoyaki and a bottle of our favorite shochu, Taiso, and call it a night. I think the best izakaya though, is Shoya. Definitely check that one out if you have the chance. Their yuzu and honey sake cocktails are to die for.
